Safe book is ready!

The final 'safe' booklet documenting the project 'No trial no error' got a white felt cover. For health & safety purposes the front it is featuring the warning. Booklet is bound with an elastic band. By taking the risk and unbinding the booklet, however, the viewer will reveal more photographs.

Warnings - unplugged

A selection of first warning signs. Most of them were photographed at different locations across Edinburgh. One of them is also this web-site's banner (in case you didn't notice). More warnings to come soon!

First conceptual drawings...

The doodles below are my very first ideas for the warning-posters. Scroll down to see what they turned into when I printed and placed them across the city (first post). While the locations and messages have changed, the main concept remained the same.

About a chair which didn't wear protective clothing...

Office workers are reminded that not wearing high-visibility clothing while performingt desk-job tasks can cause death and serious injuries. Post inspired by a chair which broke into pieces days after I stuck a warning on it. It should have worn a fluorescent vest...

'Safe' booklet in production...

Selected photographs of the warning-posters will be published in a booklet documenting the project. Each page of the booklet is folded at the edges to avoid the risk of cutting the fingers with the otherwise razor-sharp and lethal paper.

Warning! Office chairs ahead

When I was researching the subject, I came across the interesting book by Wildavsky. 'Searching for safety', 1988 mentioned an incident where a series of office chairs was... exploding causing death and injuries. How terrible a designer you have to be to turn an innocent object into a bomb...
